The primary objective is to support the Shared Service IT Department and ensure adherence with Corporate Policies. To assist with projects where necessary and provide PC and Application support for Gulf & Levant.
Minimum of 1 year experience in Abbott MIS environment or 3 years of relevant experience within the IT industry
Knowledge of SharePoint Services, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Operating Systems
To monitor the back-up process and ensure satisfactory daily backups are done and checked.
To conduct back-up and restore testing and log test findings.
To offer IT support to remote users site/branch offices. This may involve Occasional site visits also overseas travel may be required.
To assist the IT Manager in monitoring on-going IT contracts with the best suppliers of IT/telecommunications services,
To identify any benefits offered by alternative suppliers and recommend their use to the IT Manager.
To assist in minimizing expenses incurred and keeping within the specified IT Budget.
To monitor misuse and installation of illegal software Applications on Abbott devices to make sure those users are complying with the policy.
To keep the IT hardware inventory list up to date
To keep the IT licenses list up to date
To keep the log up to date showing what programs and licenses are held on each computer
To keep Data Centre areas tidy and safe
Ensure wiring Cabinets are up to standards
To liaise with Finance department to ensure that the fixed asset list is kept up to date with the correct information.
To train staff on correct use of programs and systems were necessary
To set up new Abbott image on PC’s/ Laptops documents are set up correctly, along with email and VPN access.
Perform new starter induction on IT Policies, procedures and systems
A Degree or higher diploma in IT related
